How to build a small Lego Star wars Gonk Droid

There are many reasons why it is good to know how to build a Lego Starwars Gonk Droid. It is good to know why if you have no room for a big model, you want to expand your knowledge Lego Starwars creation, or you just want to build something new. At the end of this, you are going to be able to build a Lego Starwars Gonk Droid.

For this project you will need:  two 1x1 clip pieces, three circular 1x1 pieces, one 1x2 jumper piece, three 1x2 regular blocks, 1x1 cover piece, 2x2 cover piece, two 1x1 headlight piece, and three 1x1 circular pieces. The pieces required  for this project do not need to be a specific color. You can even change it up and add a little bit of your own style in it. If you do not know what the pieces are, you can visit the Lego parts page.

First, you will need to lay out the two 1x1 pieces to start the base. Right after that, connect the two circular pieces to the clip pieces. Thirdly, attach the 1x2 jumper piece to the top to finish the legs. At the end of this process it should look like this.

To begin the body, place a 2x2 plate on top of the 1x2 jumper piece. Then, place two 1x2 bricks right on top. Right after that, place the two headlight blocks to the front of the of the creation. For the eyes, you can put the 1x1 cover piece and the 1x1 circular piece where you desire. They do not have to be in any order on the headlight pieces. And to complete it, just add the 2x2 piece on top of the whole creation.

But it does not have to look precisely the same if you added some of your own style. If you had any trouble, you could just look at the pictures, or if your Gonk Droid has been destroyed, you can just reread the directions all over again.

This set of directions could be helpful if you do not not know to build a Gonk Droid, or you just want to expand your Lego creations. After reading these directions you should be able to build your very own, unique, Lego Starwars Gonk Droid.

Someone Well known

Sometimes it is hard to find someone who can truly build. Or someone who has such an interest on the topic of Legos. Many just don’t know where to get the inspiration. But this week I got to interview someone that has a wide range of knowledge on Legos. Anne from has shared some of her thoughts with me about Legos.

1.How did you come up with the idea with your blog?
Anne: “I have been a LEGO fan as a kid, but due to peer-pressure to grow up, and moving away from home, I gave it up when I was 14. I only got back to the hobby as an adult. Of course I had a lot to catch up with and I was super excited - which also meant I was driving my family crazy talking about LEGO a bit too much. So they suggested I start a LEGO blog. A win-win situation as I can yack about LEGO as much as I want and leave my family in peace...(c;”
2.What do you like the most about Lego?
Anne: “I look at LEGO not a toy but as a creative-medium like wood, clay or paint. I love the unlimited potential for creativity, yet having enough structure to bring dose creative ideas into life. It is an inspiring hobby that is both relaxing and mind-expanding at the same time.”
3.If you could build anything that you want what would it be?
Anne: “Recreate the world of anchient Vedic writings like the Bhagavad-gita, the Mahabharata and the Ramayan in LEGO. Imagine the huge battle-scenes, the expansive palaces and the so many human and non-human creatures! It would be awesome!”

4.What is your inspiration for building?
Anne: “It could be something I see in real life and I say..."Ah, that would look great in LEGO!" Or it could be a new LEGO set that inspires me to expand on the idea and perfect it. I'm also very active on the various LEGO forums and photo-sharing sites and often get inspired by the LEGO creations of others. And occasionally I challenge myself to enter a LEGO contest and build something with a deadline and building rules. And sometimes I just sit down and doodle with a handful of LEGO pieces to see what comes out of it.”

5.How did you discover Lego?
Anne: “My Dad is an architect and he regularly uses LEGO for modeling his structures. Growing up I first started to play with his LEGO, then I gradually started to get my own sets. Both of my parents are from Europe and they very much value creative and educational play. So LEGO became the most used toy between my parents and siblings.”

I think that is it cool that we both have a big interest in Legos. Also that someday we want to build something huge ( I want to build the whole Wayne Mansion from Batman). But I want to know why she does not post her own creative builds. Those would probably spark some inspiration into some people. I found it interesting on how she first got inspired by Legos. Imagine all of the huge buildings and different designs he has built for his models. Nobody could out think her creative Lego ideas.

A special thank you to Anne for taking her time and answering these questions. It is wonderful to learn from a Lego expert.

Brick separator thingamajig

Not many people have supposedly seen aliens. But you better watch out because the new Galaxy Squad sets are heading out this summer. With the four different squads and colors they are sure to start owning some aliens. With all of the Aliens coming in, the Galaxy squad produces more different types of machines to get rid of them. For each different type of colored rank they have many tropical types of monsters/humungous bugs. My favorite squad is the Crater Creeper. They may be small in size but they are probably sure to produce a lot of bang. And the colors of this squad sure do stand out.
I know that it is kinda late, but the spring mini sets have come out for the spring season. They have the tiny, but detailed, rabbit with a basket. Also, heading back a month, they have they Valentines box filled with whatever you please. And for the whole season they have the springtime scene.
And it isn’t very common for series Legos to have lots of advanced building techniques ( Well correct me if I’m wrong). Well the Dc Heroes have created the Arkham Asylum. This place is HUGE! It has a lot of custom blocks, and even the vehicle seems to custom, or a new type of design. This sets also includes the brick separator thingamajig. This set has all of Batman’s enemies, doctor, special Joker, and BATMAN! Wow what a surprise. Lots of traps and moving blocks have also been added.
